What these technologies do

Cookies store small amounts of information in your browser. Local storage and similar technologies can also remember information on your device. They can support site functions, retain privacy choices, measure visits, or support advertising.

How we use them

Website functions. WordPress, hosting, and performance services support delivery, security, and applicable sign-in functions. Storage used for an administrator’s sign-in or editing does not necessarily apply to ordinary readers.

Privacy choices. Complianz and the WordPress Consent API use browser storage to remember and communicate your choices. These functional records store privacy settings; they are separate from the analytics data described below.

paws_statistics_choice — Functional cookie used to remember an explicit Statistics choice for up to 30 days. It stores only the consent-policy version, not a visitor identifier, and is removed when Statistics is turned off.

Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to measure visits and website interactions. Its cookies include _ga, which distinguishes visitors, and _ga_<container-id>, which maintains session state. Google specifies a default expiration of two years; settings and browser restrictions can shorten this, and expiration may renew with use. Cookie expiration is separate from how long collected Analytics data is retained. Analytics data may include online identifiers and are not necessarily anonymous.

Advertising. Google AdSense and participating advertising providers may use cookies or related technologies for ad delivery, personalization where permitted, measurement, and fraud prevention. The cookies used depend on the ads, providers, settings, browser, and privacy choices. A non-personalized ad does not necessarily mean that no cookies are used.

Future affiliate links. If we introduce affiliate links, retailers or affiliate networks may use link identifiers, cookies, or similar technologies to attribute referrals and qualifying purchases. We will update this policy and our Affiliate Disclosure when those arrangements are introduced.

Providers and storage duration

Some storage lasts for a browser session; other records remain until they expire or are deleted. Actual use depends on the page, enabled services, your choices, and whether you are signed in. See How Google uses cookies and Google Analytics cookie documentation for purposes and lifetimes. Our Privacy Choices page contains the site’s cookie inventory and available browser controls. Some listed storage is used only for signed-in administration or editing and does not apply to ordinary readers.

For example, WP_PREFERENCES_USER_* stores signed-in editor preferences in local storage, wp-settings-* stores signed-in interface preferences, and wordpress_logged_in_* supports signed-in sessions. These are distinct from analytics cookies.

Manage your choices

Visit Privacy Choices to use the Preferences and Statistics controls available in this browser. Turn off a category to decline it. Changes are saved automatically. Functional storage remains active. The optional privacy-request form and email route are separate from these browser settings.

You can also delete or block cookies through your browser. Google provides an Analytics opt-out browser add-on for supported desktop browsers. Disabling necessary storage can affect site functions. Choices may need to be made separately on each browser or device and after clearing stored settings.

Withdrawing consent changes future processing that relies on that consent; it does not invalidate prior processing or automatically delete information already collected. Cookies left by a previous privacy tool can remain in your browser until they expire or you delete them.
